The incredibly beautiful Pacuare River in Costa Rica delivers a first class rafting experience. The rapids are rated class III & IV, most of the year. In June, during the rainy season, many of the rapids increase to class 5. I was thrown out of the raft several times. The last picture in row 5 shows our guide, Fernando, pulling me out from under the boat in turbulent water. 

Portions of the movies Congo and Jurassic Park were filmed in and around this beautiful Pacuare River.

The cost for a day of rafting was $95.00. It included a beautiful several hour ride each way from San Jose with a breakfast stop along the road and lunch along shore midway on the rafting trip.
