Nicaragua -June 2002

This was my first fishing trip to Nicaragua. I was lucky to have booked with Philippe Tisseaux and his company San Carlos Sports Fishing. They are very well known and respected in Nicaragua. His guides know where the big fish are and how to hook them. On this trip we stayed at different places each night while we fished the islands in Southern Lake Nicaragua and then up and down the Rio San Juan.

We caught lots of fish, Tarpon, Big Snook, Rainbow Bass and many others. All the places we ate and stayed were were basic but clean. Every meal was a treat. We ate fresh fish daily along with many interesting and delicious local meals.

The boat crew and all local people everywhere we went were kind, friendly, helpful and honest. It truly is a new frontier for the adventuress fishermen.
